OpenText Exstream Consulting

Exstream expertise from over 20 years of output management

OpenText Exstream is a leading platform for customer communications management – and the successor platform to StreamServe. OpenText now markets the platform as OpenText Communications and evolves it in quarterly Cloud Editions releases (currently CE 26.x). We have specialized in output management since 2004 and support companies with everything Exstream involves: from designing new solutions and developing documents and forms to interfaces, e-invoicing and day-to-day operations.

Our engagements are typically long-term. We work predominantly remotely, know the requirements of banking, insurance and industry – and we tell you honestly what works and what doesn't.

Four reasons to work with us

Honesty as a principle

We tell you before the project starts what is realistic – and what is not. That saves both sides expensive surprises.

Quick to get up to speed

We ramp up quickly on existing installations and understand historically grown solutions in detail.

At your side for the long run

Typical engagements run from three months to several years – as an integral part of your team.

Remote & international

Project experience in 14 European countries, working predominantly remotely – efficient and proven.

Most recently we delivered a complete system migration from StreamServe 5.6.2 to OpenText Exstream V16 – from the migration concept and the implementation of all modules to equivalence testing, go-live and hypercare. You can find details and further examples in our project experience.

Frequently asked questions about Exstream consulting

What is the difference between StreamServe and OpenText Exstream?

StreamServe has been absorbed into OpenText Exstream: OpenText continues the technology within the Exstream platform and actively develops only Exstream. Companies running StreamServe 5.x today typically migrate to Exstream – the concepts are related but differ considerably in detail.

Which versions and tools do you cover?

From StreamServe 4 and 5.x (Design Center, Control Center) through OpenText Exstream 16.x and the many interim versions to the current Cloud Editions releases of OpenText Communications (CE 25.x/26.x) – on-premises as well as in the cloud, with Communications Builder and StoryTeller, including scripting, interfaces and server configuration.

Do you work remotely or on site?

Predominantly remotely – that is how we have delivered projects in 14 European countries. On-site appointments are possible by arrangement, for example for workshops or project kick-offs.

How quickly can you join a project?

That depends on our current project situation – just ask. Ramp-up itself is fast: we know the typical architectures and find our way around unfamiliar installations quickly.

Do you also handle operations and support of existing Exstream installations?

Yes. We support systems in production: incident analysis and resolution (Jira, ServiceNow, OTRS), change requests from concept to go-live, and year-end and special processing runs.

Do you implement e-invoicing formats directly in Exstream?

Yes – we have implemented KSeF, Peppol, XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, Factur-X and the Swiss QR-invoice directly in StreamServe and Exstream, from mapping to go-live.
